Intel® Stable Image Platform Program (Intel® SIPP)
Platform stability for desktop and laptop platforms
Intel® SIPP defined
Aligning new platform qualification and technology transitions with the Intel® Stable Image Platform Program (Intel® SIPP) helps maximize the length of time you can purchase and deploy stable platforms. Intel SIPP defines annual transition cycles for desktop and laptop systems that include a 3-month qualification period followed by a full 12-month deployment interval.
Transitioning desktop PC technology
Intel recommends completing qualification and beginning deployment of new platforms based on 2006 Intel SIPP desktop components in the September-November period.

Transitioning laptop PC technology
The SIPP qualification window for laptops was January-March. Intel recommends deploying stable platforms based on 2006 Intel SIPP laptop components through the end of the year. The next Intel SIPP laptop transition will begin in April 2007.
