Recognizing the importance of India's growth industry and the country's role as a technology and research provider, Intel Capital recently held its seventh annual CEO Summit in Mumbai, India. The Intel Capital CEO Summit brings chief executives from Intel Capital's portfolio companies worldwide together with executives from Intel and Global 2000 corporations along with government and education leaders for three days of learning and deal-making focused on tapping into the opportunities offered today in India.

At the CEO Summit, Intel Capital hosted an international press conference which attracted over 30 top journalists from leading media such as Reuters, Dow Jones, Bloomberg News, Nikkei, The Economic Times, Outlook Business, and India Infoline. Arvind Sodhani, President of Intel Capital, outlined Intel Capital's bolder, more proactive strategy designed to enhance innovation worldwide by helping its portfolio companies to be more successful through larger investment stakes and more active collaboration.

Real Image is the latest investment from the $250 million Intel Capital India Technology Fund. This investment, together with earlier announced funding in Maya Entertainment, Mauj, Mobiapps Holdings, and Persistent Systems, aims to drive Indian innovation in wireless connectivity, digital media content, and consumer Internet. Real Image, based in Chennai, India, specializes in digital media technology for the film, video, audio, and animation industries worldwide.

Results-Oriented Matchmaking Sessions

During the Summit, Intel Capital portfolio company CEOs had the chance to meet with Global 2000 industry executives as well CEO Summit 2006 Mumbai - Matchmaking as leaders from around the world to discuss new business opportunities for their company's products and services. For many portfolio companies, the sessions offered unparalleled access to normally inaccessible industry executives through their relationship with Intel Capital.

Almost 140 CEOs and industry executives took part in close to 400 matchmaking sessions at the Intel Capital CEO Summit. Each was strategically designed to pair up portfolio company and industry executives with common business interests. As a result of such careful pre-screening, 84 percent of portfolio company CEOs rated the sessions as "very relevant" and 73 percent of them agreed to specific follow-up actions as a direct result of the matchmaking sessions.
