Indian companies Yatra.com, BuzzInTown.com and Emnet Samsara Media Pvt. Ltd.Receive Intel Capital Funding
NEW DELHI, India, July 24, 2008 - Intel Capital, Intel Corporation's global investment organization today announced its plans to invest US$17 million in three Indian companies – Yatra.com, a leading online travel portal, BuzzInTown.com, an events-oriented social network extensible across web and mobile platforms and Emnet Samsara Media Pvt. Ltd., an out-of-home (OOH) advertising company focusing on the Indian public transportation market. The funding will come from the $250M Intel Capital India Technology fund.

“Since starting in India in 1998, Intel Capital has invested in approximately fifty companies across eight cities”, said Arvind Sodhani, president of Intel Capital and Intel Executive Vice President. “Intel Capital places a great deal of importance on encouraging entrepreneurship and technology innovation in India and our latest investments in Yatra.com, BuzzInTown.com and Emnet Samsara are proof of that.”

Intel Capital Invests in German thin-film solar module developer
MUNICH, Germany and SANTA CLARA, Calif., – July 9, 2008 – As an important part of its cleantech investing, Intel Capital, Intel's global investment organization, has invested € 24 million in Sulfurcell, a leading German developer and manufacturer of thin-film, electricity-generating solar modules. Sulfurcell will use the new investment to significantly expand production with a new plant in Berlin.

Intel Capital led the € 85 million total equity round, with a € 24 million investment. European cleantech investors including Climate Change Capital Private Equity (London), AIG (Zurich), Demeter Partners (Paris), Zouk Ventures (London) and BankInvest (Copenhagen) invested € 38 million with the remainder of the round coming from existing investors.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 16, 2008 – To spur new development and demand for renewable energy sources, Intel Corporation is spinning off key assets of a start-up business effort inside Intel's New Business Initiatives group to form an independent company called SpectraWatt Inc. Intel Capital, Intel's global investment organization, is leading a $50 million investment round in SpectraWatt and is joined by Cogentrix Energy, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., PCG Clean Energy and Technology Fund ("CETF") and Solon AG. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2008.
