Intel® 82543GC Gigabit Ethernet Controller

Is an EEPROM always required on the 82543?
An EEPROM is always required because Bit 13 of ICW1 defaults to zero if no EEPROM is present which maps the 82543 to 64 bit space causing it to function incorrectly as a target device due to erratum # 5.

How can I get source code for an Intel® drivers?
Please contact your Intel FAE.
