Intel offers a variety of evaluation platforms (such as Development Kits, Customer Reference Boards or Evaluation Boards) to simplify the design process and reduce time-to-market. Evaluation platforms may include: hardware (based on industry standards), firmware, software (including operating systems), reference designs, cables, and peripherals to enable developers in prototyping their solution, performance evaluation, or porting application software.
Evaluation boards that provide a compelling experience for developers (kit may include documentation, peripherals, and/or software.)
Intel’s reference design implementation that is fundamental to establishing design guidelines, demonstrating platform performance or determining suitability for specific applications. These reference designs may be made available to qualified customers upon request.

The COTS Technology* VPX6-C2 system supports the Intel® Core™ i7-3612QE processor with Intel® AVX floating point libraries. This Intel quad-core 22nm processor is equipped with more cache than any previous CPU, allowing it to process larger vectors at peak rates. The VPX6-C2 features high-bandwidth fabrics including Serial RapidIO* (SRIO) and Gen2 PCI Express* (PCIe) to the P1 & P2 connectors. This provides contemporary connectivity between the VPX6-C2 and additional boards in a high performance computing environment. The VPX6-C2 is supported with an extensive suite of industry-preferred software such as VxWorks*, Linux*, and Windows* XPe/7. The system consists of three parts: single board computer, test backplane (housing included), and a power supply.

Emerson* NITX-315-DEVKIT The NITX-300 series of Nano-ITX motherboards from Emerson Network Power* features the Intel® Atom™ processor E640. This ultra low power motherboard solution offers passive cooling capability for reliable operation with a low height profile and small form factor (120 mm x 120 mm). The NITX-300 series is a perfect match for use in a variety of embedded applications within Industrial, Medical, Mil/Aero and other markets. In addition, the NITX-300 features a wide range of built-in connectivity, networking and display options. The NITX-300 seed board includes the Wind River* On-Board Embedded Development Kit that is ideal for software developers. The 30-day evaluation software includes Wind River Linux pre-integrated with Intel® Embedded Media and Graphics Driver (Intel® EMGD). Wind River Linux may be run in conjunction with the VxWorks real time operating system (RTOS) on top of the Wind River Hypervisor. The kit also includes the Wind River Workbench IDE and the Tilcon GUI tools for graphics development.
