Intel® E7210 ChipsetOverview
The Intel® E7210 chipset provides an affordable yet reliable, entry-level server platform based on the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor supporting Hyper-Threading (HT) Technology. For budget-conscious business users, an entry-level server delivers impressive computing performance without compromising system reliability, and represents a significant step up from "servers" based on desktop PCs.
The Intel E7210 chipset, with dual channel DDR-400 memory support, provides an aggregate memory bandwidth of 6.4 GB/s. This enables a balanced platform design and delivers maximum system performance for memory intensive server applications.
The performance of a 3.20E GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor supporting Hyper-Threading Technology and the Intel E7210 chipset-based server, as measured using the Netbench benchmark, is 80 percent higher than previous generation systems based on 2.4 GHz Intel Pentium 4 and Intel® 845E chipset.
Unlike chipsets designed for the desktop market segment, the integrated PCI-X bridge in the Intel® 6300ESB component allows higher I/O performance by supporting new PCI-X server cards that conform to the PCI-X 1.0 specification. Four integrated high-speed USB 2.0 ports provide high bandwidth connectivity across a variety of peripherals.
