Pass-Through Certifications

Overview

Pass-Through Certification refers to the ability for third-party systems to be granted the same certification status as models previously certified by Intel Corporation. This process has been developed in order for third-party vendors of Intel® Server Products to receive hardware certification status in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Intel® Certification/HCL details

Intel® Enabled Solutions Acceleration Alliance (Intel® ESAA) certification

Intel® Enabled Solutions Acceleration Alliance (Intel® ESAA) certificates are electronically signed documents providing proof of validation and/or certification for a specific reseller/OEM. On the certificate the actual model name and number of the OEM is published, as well as the signed logos of the application vendors supporting the configuration. This is an important document and provides OEMs/resellers the ability to compete for customers with larger companies. The certificate states that the application vendor supports this OEM and will stand behind the server solution engineering work. Registered ESAA members can request ESAA certificates when downloading recipes.

Intel® Cluster Ready

The Intel Cluster Ready program and technology package makes it easier to design, build, sell, program, acquire, and deploy clusters built with Intel components. In collaboration with OEMs, channel members, and ISVs, the program specifies a common basis for clusters. This ensures ISV applications written to run on one certified cluster can reliably run on another certified cluster; conversely, a certified cluster will support multiple Intel Cluster Ready ISV applications.

Vendor HCLs

Citrix

Intel® ESAA-certified Citrix XenServer* recipes specify tested configurations that use Intel® Server Boards and Systems. Intel OEMs, resellers, and system integrators who use Intel server configurations based on Citrix* recipes can make a submission to be listed as Citrix-certified hardware on the Citrix XenServer Hardware Compatibility List (HCL).

EMC

The EMC Interoperability Support Matrix specifies configurations of storage products based on Intel Server Boards and Systems that have been qualified by EMC. Intel OEMs, resellers, and system integrators who sell Intel-based storage configurations can submit a request to be listed on the EMC Interoperability Support Matrix. Please allow 3-4 weeks after submission for listing.

Microsoft Windows* Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL)

Building servers using Intel® server building blocks makes it considerably easier for system integrators to receive the Microsoft* "Designed for Windows" logo. When you see the "Designed for Windows" logo, it signifies that the system or device meets Microsoft’s standard for hardware compatibility with the specified Microsoft Windows operating system.

Novell

NovellResellers who purchase Intel Server Products and are members of the Novell* PartnerNet program may be eligible to leverage an existing Novell YES Certification from Intel through the 3C copy process.

Red Hat

The Intel ESAA program offers Pass-Through Certification which allows third-party systems to be granted the same certification status as models previously certified by Intel Corporation. Pass-Through Certification for Red Hat Enterprise Linux is only available to resellers and system integrators who purchase Intel server boards and/or systems and are members of the Red Hat Ready Business Partner, Advanced & Premier Program from Red Hat, Inc.

VMware

The Intel ESAA program offers Pass-Through Certification which allows third-party systems to be granted the same certification status as models previously certified by Intel Corporation. Pass-Through Certification is available to vendors who purchase Intel server boards and/or systems and create a VMware configuration based on one of the Intel ESAA VMware recipes.
