How to Troubleshoot Live Video Acquisition Error

Am I Experiencing a Live Video Acquisition Error?
You are experiencing a Live Video Acquisition Error with your Intel® Play™ QX3™ Computer Microscope, if you are encountering one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Intel Software does not see the Microscope.
  • Intel Software cannot acquire live video from the Microscope.
  • One of the following error messages appear:
    • "Your microscope is not plugged in. Please connect the microscope. (80)"
    • "I am having trouble communicating with your computer. Please try restarting your computer."
    • "Can't find all of the necessary software components. Please reinstall the QX3 software. (93)"
  • Microscope works on another computer but not the computer you intended to use it on.
  • Microscope is not detected after hibernating, sleeping, or rebooting the computer, but is detected once you unplug and plug the Microscope back in.
  • Microscope lists in Device Manager with the following Device Status error message: "The NTKERN.VXD device loader for this device could not load the device driver.(code 2)"

How to Use the Live Video Acquisition Help File?
  1. Download the Live Video Help File [Livevid.exe]
  2. Open the folder that you saved the Livevid.exe file into.
  3. Double-click the LiveVid.exe file to extract the help file. By default, the help file is extracted into the C:\LIVEVID folder.
  4. To open the Help File, perform these steps:
    • Double-click on My Computer.
    • Double-click on Local Drive (C:).
    • Double-click on LIVEVID folder.
    • Double-click on LIVEVID or LIVEVID.HLP.
    Note: We recommend that you add a shortcut for this Help File to your Microsoft Windows* desktop. To create this shortcut, perform these steps:
    • Right-click on the LIVEVID or LIVEVID.HLP file.
    • Left-click on Send To:.
    • Left click on Desktop (create shortcut).
  5. Follow the steps in the Start Here's Introduction page to begin troubleshooting.

    Note: In this Live Video Help File, there are several references to the term "Camera" instead of the term "Microscope". Don't let this confuse you. Please continue to follow the troubleshooting steps that are given for a "Camera." The microscope is really a digital camera, but designed to focus on a small area at close range.
