The AA (Altered Assembly) number is a 9-digit Intel part number used to identify a desktop board and its revision history. A small barcode label, like the image shown below, is found on the Intel® Desktop Board. The numbers following the letters "AA" can help identify the model and version of your Intel Desktop Board.

The image below shows an example of the label placement on a board.

Search the list below (Control-F). Use the first 6 characters of the AA number only to identify your desktop board; then you can click the link to its support site. Do not to include the last three characters (-xxx) in the search.
Several other numbers (such as E210882, D33025, N232, ICES-003 and 2LI) printed directly on Intel® Desktop Boards are not indicative of the board model. These numbers represent regulatory or industry specification codes and cannot be used to identify your board.
If you search and do not get any results, it may be that:
- The AA number was typed in error. The label is small and can be difficult to read. Some of the more common mistakes are because:
- 8 looks like B
- 2 looks like Z
- 5 looks like S
The AA number you are searching for is from a board by an OEM (original equipment manufacturer). Intel does not offer technical or warranty support for a board distributed by an OEM. If you have an OEM board, you must contact the OEM directly or the place where you purchased your system for support. The OEM or the place of purchase is most familiar with your configuration and its integration of both hardware and software.
