Intel® Desktop Boards and WHQL Intel Desktop Boards are submitted to Microsoft* Windows* Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL) for participation in the Motherboard Logo Program. Successful passage of the WHQL tests results in the Designed for Windows" logo for qualifying boards.
When you see the Designed for Windows*" logo, as you do with Intel Desktop Boards, it signifies that the board meets Microsoft's standard for hardware compatibility with Windows. For more information, you can visit the Microsoft Windows Catalog*.
The Motherboard Logo Program (MLP) Report is generated by Intel to describe the testing run conducted by Intel® WHQL Engineering Services (WES). MLP Reports will only be generated for Intel Desktop Boards launching in Q2 of 2002 and later.
1Product logos already attained will stand for the life of the product under the Microsoft refresh rules. For further details please visit the Microsoft Logo site.
2As of June 9, 2008, Microsoft will require the usage of the WLK 1.2 to submit for new Vista Premium logos. This is due to new requirements that will take effect on this date. WLK 1.2 can be used to achieve new logos on any Vista product until this date. Products using motherboards that are not qualified under the WLK1.2 requirements can achieve permanent Vista Premium logo status provided the submission is made prior to the June 9 deadline.
