Intel® T440BX Server Board
System Memory

The Intel® T440BX (NL440BX) Server Board has three dual in-line memory module (DIMM) sockets that support up to 384 MB of unbuffered 100 MHz or 66 MHz ECC or non-ECC SDRAM, or 768 MB of registered 100 MHz SDRAM. The BIOS automatically detects the memory type, size and speed. The T440BX (NL440BX) server board supports the following memory features:

  • 168-pin DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
  • Unbuffered 100 MHz 72 bit with ECC SDRAM DIMMs
  • Unbuffered 100 MHz 64 bit with Non-ECC SDRAM DIMMs
  • Registered 100 MHz 72 bit with ECC SDRAM DIMMs
  • Adhere to the PC/100 SDRAM DIMM 1.0 specification
  • Adhere to the PC/100 Unbuffered DIMM specification
  • 3.3v memory only
  • Single or double-sided DIMMs
Note: If you are using SDRAM memory modules designed for the 66 MHz system bus, you must use Intel® Pentium® II Processors optimized for the 66 MHz system bus. Processors with speeds of 266 MHz, 300 MHz, and 333 MHz will work with 66 MHz system bus memory on the T440BX (NL440BX) server board.

Intel strongly recommends the use of ECC memory in the server environment. It does not matter which DIMM socket is populated first on the T440BX. The board also will function properly with only one DIMM installed.

The T440BX (NL440BX) board does not ship with any memory. See the tested memory list for a list of vendors.
