Intel® Xeon® processors 5600 series The server board has to be at BIOS 45 minimum to boot with Intel® Xeon® processor 5600 series installed. Once booted, an upgrade to BIOS 48 or later must be done for the processor to run properly and the new features to become available.

This processor is ONLY supported on Intel® Workstation Board S5520SC and Intel® Workstation System SC5650SCWS.

Is supported on Intel® Server Board S5520HC/S5500HCV/S5520HCT, Intel® Workstaton Board S5520SC, Intel® Server System SC5650HCBRP and Intel® Workstation System SC5650SCWS & S5520UR Family.

Is supported under the Intel® Server Board S5520UR and it's associated SKUs (SR1600UR, SR1625UR, SR2600UR and SR2625UR). When using this processor with a 1U system (SR16xxUR), only Single or Dual Rank DIMMs are supported because of thermal limitation.

Thermal Design Power: (Also referred to as Thermal Guideline) The maximum amount of heat which a thermal solution must be able to dissipate from the processor so that the processor will operate under normal operating conditions.
