Low network performance observed with Microsoft Windows 2008 R2*

Users may experience lower network performance when Hyper-V role is added in Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2* with more than 32G of physical memory and when using dual Intel® Xeon® 5600 series processor configuration.

Users are advised to perform the following steps:

  1. Update to BIOS 55 or later

  2. Update the network driver to the latest revision

  3. Configure the Maximize/Minimum Memory below 4GB setting under BIOS, by accessing the BIOS console (pressing <F2> during POST), & then going to:
    Advanced > PCI Configuration > Maximize/Minimum Memory below 4GB > MIN.
