Do I need a Terminator When Using a Single Processor?

The Intel® Server Board SE7500CW2 provides support for up to two Intel® Xeon® processors with 512k cache. The Intel Xeon processor architecture provides automatic processor termination. This means there is no need to populate a terminator in an unused processor socket when setting up a single processor system; however the processors must be populated in the correct order for the system to power on. Therefore, processor socket 1, which is located closest to the board corner, located directly across from the memory, must be populated first, before processor socket 2.
