The Intel® System Management Software 3.0, Microsoft* System Center Essential 2007 component supports the Microsoft* Windows Server 2008 32-bit x86 and x64 Editions as a management server and node.

The Intel® System Management Software 2.x, Microsoft* System Center 2007 component when it was released did not have built in support for Microsoft* Windows Server 2008.

To enable support for Microsoft* Windows Server 2008 using the Intel® System Management Software 2.x, here are some required components that needs to be installed.

• install Microsoft* .NET Framework 3.0, this is part of Microsoft* Windows Server 2008 distribution package
• install Microsoft* SQL Server 2005 with Service Pack 2, this can be obtained from Microsoft's website*. This page contains information on how to install and configure* Microsoft* SQL Server 2005.
• install the Microsoft* System Center Essential 2007 from the Intel® System Management Software 2.x CD distribution
• install the Microsoft* System Center Essential 2007 Service Pack 1, this can be obtained from Microsoft's website*.
• install the Intel® Server Management Pack 3.0
