Intel® Personal Audio Player 3000
Code 10 Error in Device Manager for the Audio Player

Symptom(s):

  • Code 10 error in Device Manager for the audio player
  • Player freezes when transferring audio files
  • Cause:
    Code 10 on the audio player item in Device Manager can happen if you have your audio player plugged into an external USB hub and the hub is not self-powered.

    Solution:
    Check to see if your USB hub has its own power supply (is self-powered) or if it gets its power simply from plugging into the USB port on the computer (is non-powered).

    Non-powered hubs just do not provide for the power requirements of the player. If you have a non-powered USB hub, you will need to plug the audio player directly into the USB port on the computer.

    If your hub is a self-powered hub, make sure that you have connected the power supply to AC power. Some Self-powered hubs also have a switch on them to switch back and forth between powered mode and non-powered mode. Make sure the switch is in the powered mode position.

    Relevant Information:
    The Intel® Audio Player is plugged into an external USB hub.
