     Error

E9001: Failed to allocate buffer to T_CALL [reason for failure]

     Cause

There is not enough server memory on the StorageExpress system for this
     task.

     Solution
If not loaded, load MONITOR.NLM and select "Resource Utilization."  From
the "Server Memory Statistics" window, verify that cache buffers is not
below 30%, if it is, reboot the StorageExpress system as this may return
additional free memory.  If this does not clear the problem, more memory
should be added to the StorageExpress system.

     Error
E9002: Failed to bind socket [reason for failure]

     Cause

This is a system error.

E9006: Failed to open TCP driver, [reason for failure]

     Cause

The TCP/IP configuration of the StorageExpress system is in error.

     Solution
Verify the TCP/IP configuration of the StorageExpress system.  For
example, Ethernet_II frame type, correct IP address, correct subnet
     mask, etc.

     Error
E9007: Failed to receive packet length, [packet length], [reason for
     failure]

     Cause

The connection with the workstation is broken.

     Solution
The workstation may have been turned off, or the Uagent was terminated.
Check the workstation's network connection.  Also, check the uag.log
file. The UAG.LOG may be found under the root directory or in the same
     directory as the Uagent.

     Error
E9008: Failed in t_rcvconnect to [IP address of workstation], is your
     agent loaded?

There are several possible causes and solutions:

     Cause 1

Uagent is not loaded.

     Solution 1

Make sure the Uagent is loaded at the workstation.

     Cause 2

The IP address of the workstation is incorrect.

     Solution 2

Verify the IP address and subnet mask of the workstation.

     Cause 3

The network connection is broken.

     Solution 3

Ensure the network connection is operational.  Use "PING" or other means.

     Cause 4

Bridge or router issues.

     Solution 4

Check all bridges or routers between the workstation and the
StorageExpress control unit to ensure that they are operational and that
traffic is being forwarded between the proper ports.

     Cause 5

Wrong TCP port number.

     Solution 5

Don't start Uagent with the "-p" option.

     Cause 6

IP is not bound to the LAN driver.  Verify the IP address and subnet
mask on the StorageExpress control unit.

     Solution 6

Use the "CONFIG" command from the StorageExpress control unit console.

     Error
E9009: Failed to transmit packet [packet length], [reason for failure]

     Cause

The connection with the workstation is broken.

     Solution
The workstation may have been turned off, or Uagent was terminated.
Also, check the workstation's network configuration.

     Error
E9010: Failed in t_connect to [IP address of workstation], Timeout!

There are several possible causes and solutions:

     Cause 1

Uagent didn't respond with a connection confirmation within 300 seconds.
The network load might be too heavy.

     Solution 1

Try again at a different time when traffic across the network may be
     lighter.

     Cause 2

Wrong Ethernet frame type.

     Solution 2

Ensure that the ETHERNET_II frame type is bound to the StorageExpress
     control unit LAN driver.

     Cause 3

TCP/IP on the UNIX workstation is not configured or is improperly
     configured.

     Solution 3

Ensure TCP/IP is properly configured on the UNIX workstation.

     Error
E9030: Failed to allocate filter buffer (number of bytes)

     Cause
There is not enough server memory on the StorageExpress server for this
     task.

     Solution
If not loaded, load MONITOR.NLM and select "Resource Utilization."  From
the "Server Memory Statistics" window, verify that the cache buffers is
not below 30%.  If it is, reboot the StorageExpress as this may return
additional free memory (NetWare 3.11 has had some problems with memory
management).  If this does not clear the problem, more memory should be
     added to the StorageExpress.

     Error
E9031: Failed to allocate memory [number of bytes] for ws backup.

     Cause
There is not enough server memory on the StorageExpress system for this
     task.

     Solution
If not loaded, load MONITOR.NLM and select "Resource Utilization."  From
the "Server Memory Statistics" window, verify that the cache buffers is
not below 30%.  If it is, reboot the StorageExpress system as this may
return additional free memory (NetWare 3.11 has had some problems with
memory management).  If this does not clear the problem, more memory
should be added to the StorageExpress system.
